Description:

A hair transplant surgery is performed in those individuals who are affected by baldness. A hair transplant procedure is usually performed on those individuals who wish to have a full set of hair. Baldness can result in loss of confidence and this procedure can help with hair re-growth thus helping improve the overall personality.Pre Procedure

- The patient is advised to stop smoking completely.

- In addition, certain blood tests will be required before the procedure and blood-thinning medications need to be stopped before the procedure.

- The patient should be fasting 8 hours prior to the surgery.

During Procedure

The procedure is discussed by the doctor as per what is suitable and applicable to the patient. There are 2 methods:

- Follicular Unit Strip Surgery: Trips of skin from the head are removed after which the scalp is closed. After this the surgeon along with a team of doctors removes the scalp into a number of tiny grafts.

- Follicular Unit Extraction: The back of the patient?s scalp along with the hair follicles are removed. After the graft has been prepared, the surgeon clears and numbs the area after which small holes with a sharp medical instrument are made. The holes are then filled with the graft and the scalp is then closed.

Post Procedure

The recovery required for hair transplant depends from individual to individual. However, if the patient wants thicker hair then a repeat procedure can be done

Risk Complications

Bleeding can occur because of the procedure. Along with that some infection can be observed in rare cases though
