Description Face transplant is a surgery that is done for those people who suffer from any facial disfigurement. It involves the removal of a part or all of an individual’s face by making use of donor tissue from someone who is no longer living (the tissue of a dead persons face). It is a complex procedure and involves many surgical teams and months of preparation. A face transplant surgery is performed when: - Any person is badly disfigured by burns, facial trauma or any congenital defects. - Any person wishes to improve the form and functional abilities such as talking, swallowing, chewing and breathing through the nose. A face transplant is a high-risk surgery that shall give the person a totally new face. The patient shall be put on certain medications to reduce the possibility of the face transplant being rejected.
